Naperville, Ill. - The Wheaton men's tennis team earned an 8-1 CCIW victory at North Central College on Tuesday afternoon. Wheaton is now 12-7 overall and 5-0 in CCIW play. North Central falls to 10-7 overall and 2-4 in conference play.

Thunder senior Justin Ancona defeated North Central's Victor Krueger 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Dane Paulsen defeated Aleksander Vasic 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and Matt Steiner picked up a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles against Connor Sass. Jeremiah Yi topped North Central's Tyler Haizel 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles and Thunder senior Andrew Torok won a 7-5, 6-3 decision at No. 6 singles.

Wheaton's No. 1 doubles team of Ancona and Steiner defeated the NCC tandem of Alex Kohlmeier and Vasic 8-2. Paulsen and Yi defeated Krueger and Haizel, 9-7 at No. 2 doubles. Karl Wenzel and Josh Cheng teamed up for an 8-3 victory at No. 3 doubles against Sass and Tyler Bussell.

The Thunder concludes the regular season Saturday with matches at home against Carroll (10 a.m.) and Illinois Wesleyan (4:00 p.m.).\
