Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton men's tennis team remained undefeated in conference play with an 8-1 victory at home against Carthage on Thursday afternoon. Wheaton, now 3-0 in CCIW play and 10-7 overall , is the lone undefeated team in CCIW competition this season.

The Thunder No. 1 doubles team of Matt Steiner and Justin Ancona defeated Carthage's Pawel Jaworski and Herman Abban 8-4. Steiner entered today's matchup ranked fourth in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Region doubles rankings. Jaworski and Abban are ranked first in the same poll and are the 12th-ranked doubles team in Division III. The Wheaton No. 2 doubles team of Jeremiah Yi and Dane Paulsen defeated Carthage's Lukasz Jaworski and Oscar Irazoque 8-4. Josh Cheng and Andrew Bristol picked up a 9-7 victory at No. 3 doubles against Brandon Stassen and Matt Curry.

Paulsen (PICTURED LEFT) defeated Carthage's Pawel Jaworski 6-3, 6-7, 10-3 at No. 2 singles. Steiner was a 6-1, 6-1 victor against Lukasz Jaworski at No. 3 singles and Yi topped Irazoque 6-1, 6-1 for a win at No. 4 singles. Cheng defeated Fordy Leipold 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles and Andrew Torok earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles against Matt Curry.

The Thunder will return to action on April 22 in a CCIW match at home against Millikin University.
