Eau Claire, Wis. - The Thunder men's tennis team earned its third-consecutive victory on Friday night with a 6-3 win at UW-Eau Claire. Wheaton is now 7-5 on the year following tonight's victory.

Thunder senior Justin Ancona was a 6-2, 6-0 winner against UW-Eau Claire's Mike Mauthe at No. 1 singles. Dane Paulsen was a 6-4, 7-6 victor at No. 2 singles against Andrew Dahl and senior Matt Steiner picked up a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 3 singles against Danny Schoen. 

Wheaton swept the doubles matches tonight to jump out to a 3-0 lead in the team scoring. Ancona and Steiner teamed up a for an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles against Mauthe and Dahl. Paulsen paired with Jeremiah Yi earned an 8-4 victory at No. 2 doubles against Will Weyenberg and Renan Barros. The Thunder N0. 3 doubles team of Andrew Bristol and Karl Wenzel picked up an 8-3 victory against Conrad Felten and Zach Janssen. 

Wheaton will open conference play on April 4 at Augustana. The conference opener against the Vikings will begin at 4:00 p.m. in Rock Island.
