Decatur, Ill. – The Thunder men's basketball team defeated Millikin 77-56 on Wednesday night to earn the season sweep against the Big Blue. The Thunder never trailed in tonight's road win as Wheaton improves to 11-11 on the year, with a 6-6 record in conference play.

Sophomore
Aston Francis scored a game-high 31 points tonight as he made seven three-pointers and snatched six steals. Freshman
Jay Spencer (PICTURED) shot 6-of-7 from the floor as he scored 13 points with five assists off the Thunder bench. Fellow rookie
Jake Mlagan registered 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field. Mlagan grabbed six rebounds and dished out three assists off the bench. Luke Peter scored six points, with seven rebounds and four assists.
Kobe Eichelberger and
Ricky Samuelson each scored five points for the guests.
Wheaton jumped out to a 19-9 lead over the first seven minutes of the game as Wheaton's first six points of the game came on three-pointers by Francis and Eichelberger. Francis scored 10 of Wheaton's 19 points in the opening seven minutes.

A basket by Mlagan (PICTURED RIGHT) with 28-seconds remaining in the first half gave Wheaton its largest lead of the half with a 16-point advantage. That 39-23 Thunder lead would remain the score at halftime.
The Thunder never relinquished the double-digit lead in the second half. The guests' largest lead of the game was a 26-point bulge at 64-38 with 9:20 remaining in the game.
Wheaton registered a 55.8% (29-of-52) field goal percentage in the game, including 44% (11-of-25) from three-point range. The Big Blue shot 45.7% (21-of-46) from the floor, including 33.3% (4-of-12) behind the three-point arc. Millikin shot 91.7% (11-of-12) at the free throw line and the Thunder had an 80% (8-of-10) effort at the charity stripe. The Thunder held a 27-20 rebounding edge, including a 10-6 advantage on the offensive glass as Wheaton out-scored the hosts 15-4 in second-chance points.
Tyler Pygon and Michael Charles each scored 10 points to lead Millikin. Jordan Cunningham and Korbin Farmer scored eight points apiece for the hosts.
Wheaton will host #25-ranked North Park on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. in King Arena.
