Janesville, Wis. - The Thunder men's tennis team played the first of three weekend matches in Wisconsin on Friday as Wheaton (0-3) faced the host Warhawks of UW-Whitewater. UW-Whitewater defeated the Thunder 5-4.

Matt Steiner earned Wheaton's win in doubles action with an 8-4 victory at No. 1 doubles against Grant Thompson and Jimmy Engelhart.

Matt Steiner in singles matches tied the team score at 3-3, but the Warhawks followed with two more wins to secure the team victory.
Jeremiah Yi was a winner at No. 4 singles to account for Wheaton's fourth point.
Paulsen defeated UW-Whitewater's Zane Navratil 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. Steiner picked up a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles against Jimmy Engelhart. Yi's victory was a 7-6 (7-5), 6-0 win against Matt Zurowski.
Wheaton will take on Grinnell and Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday.
