Wheaton, Ill. - Wheaton College seniors
Zach Lindquist and
Chase Greenlee were each named to the 2017 Associated Press Division III All-America football team on Thursday afternoon.
Lindquist is Second Team All-America pick at tight end, marking the second-consecutive year he has earned All-America recognition. He was also a D3football.com All-American in 2016l. Lindquist was second among Thunder receivers in 2017 with 27 receptions, racking up 324 receiving yards with four touchdown catches. He was second on the squad in receptions during conference play with 24 catches against league opponents, for 306 yards, with three touchdowns.
Lindquist is a three-time All-Region selection from D3football.com and a three-time All-CCIW honoree. In four seasons with the Thunder, Lindquist recorded 129 catches for 1,548 receiving yards. He tallied 15 touchdown receptions, with two rushing touchdowns to his credit.
Greenlee is a Second Team All-America honoree on the defensive line by the Associated Press. He led Wheaton with 21.5 tackles for lost yardage (-98 yards) this year, including 15.5 sacks (-86 yards) this year. Greenlee's 15.5 sacks is the third-highest single-season total in school history and ranked second this year in Division III. He ranked fourth among Wheaton's defensive players this season with 44 total tackles (28 solo). His 14-1/2 sacks (-83 yards) in CCIW play led the conference this season.
In three seasons with the Thunder, Greenlee recorded 137 total tackles, including 77 solo stops. He tallied 31.5 career sacks, a mark that is second in program history. His 31.5 career sacks is second, behind only
Jeff Peltz's (1977-80) school record of 37 career sacks. HIs five sacks in this year's regular season finale at Carroll is tied for the seventh-highest single-game total in Division III history.
