Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton College wrestling team hosted Elmhurst for the opening dual match of the season on Thursday night in King Arena. The Bluejays topped the Thunder 31-16.
Elmhurst picked up victories in the first six matches tonight. Wheaton's first win came at 174-pounds as Caleb O'Dell (PICTURED ABOVE) won by fall at 4:32 of his match against Shawn Swiderek.
Caleb's brother, Isaac O'Dell (PICTURED LEFT) won the next match as he won by fall at 3:33 of his match at 184-pounds against Elmhurst's Taylor Kistulinec.
Thunder junior Max Gierke (PICTURED RIGHT) defeated Elmhurst's Karim Fuentez in an 11-2 major decision at 285-pounds.
The Thunder travel to Indiana this weekend to compete in the Trine Invitational on Saturday.
