Stefan Knoerr picks up his third CCIW Special Teams Player of the Week award

Wheaton, Ill. - Senior kicker Stefan Knoerr was named this week's College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Special Teams Player of the Week by the conference office on Monday afternoon. This is Knoerr's fourth career Player of the Week selection and the third time he has earned it this season. He also picked up the recognition on October 24, 2016, September 5, 2017 and September 25, 2017.

Knoerr converted both of his field goal attempts in Saturday's 53-10 victory against Augustana. He kicked a 22-yard field goal in the second quarter that gave the Thunder a 16-3 lead and followed with a career-best 46-yard field goals as time expired to end the first half to extend Wheaton's lead to 26-3. The Thunder senior is 10-for-13 on field goal attempts this season.

Wheaton concludes the regular season on Saturday, when the Thunder travels to Carroll University for the regular season finale.
