Wheaton, Ill. – Two members of the Wheaton football program have been recognized as preseason All-Americans by D3football.com. Senior guard
Peter Gibson was tabbed as a First Team preseason All-American by the website and senior
Zach Lindquist was named a Second Team selection at tight end. This year's recognition is the 10th time Wheaton has had at least one selection on the D3football.com Preseason All-America Team since the website began its preseason team in 2000; and this is the sixth time Wheaton has placed two selections on a team in the same year. Wheaton was the only CCIW football program on this year's listing.
Peter Gibson (PICTURED LEFT) is listed as a First Team preseason All-American by the website this year after earning Third Team recognition last year from d3football.com. Last month the senior also received preseason All-America recognition from the Sporting News and Lindy's preaseason college football publications. Last year Gibson blocked for a balanced Wheaton offense that averaged 470.9 yards per game, running for 236.1 yards per game and passing for 234.8 passing yards per contest.

Fellow senior
Zach Lindquist (PICTURED RIGHT) was a Second Team selection to the D3football.com Preseason All-America Team after being named Second Team All-North Region at tight end in 2015. He caught 37 passes last year for 548 yards with four touchdown receptions for the Thunder. In July he also was named as Lindy's Preseason All-American.
The Thunder will open the 2016 season against Benedictine University on September 3 at McCully Stadium.
