Decatur, Ill. - The Wheaton men's tennis team closed out the regular season on Saturday afternoon with a 7-2 victory at Millikin University. The win improves the Thunder to 12-7 overall and 5-1 in CCIW play.

Wheaton won two of the three doubles matches against the Big Blue this afternoon. Justin Ancona and Matt Steiner earned an 8-1 victory at number-one doubles. Dane Paulsen teamed with Lincoln Metz for an 8-3 victory at number-two doubles.

Ancona was a 6-2, 6-4 victory at number-one singles and Paulsen earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at number-two singles. Steiner earned a 6-1, 6-4 victory at number-three singles and Metz was a 5-7, 6-3, 10-7 winner at number-four singles. Josh Cheng picked up a 6-3, 6-0 victory at number-six singles.

Wheaton will host the upcoming CCIW Men's Tennis Tournament next weekend on the Wheaton campus. The Thunder will be the number-two seed in the tournament and open up participation in the tournament on Thursday afternoon against seventh-seeded Illinois Wesleyan.
