Orlando, Fla. - The Thunder men's tennis team (4-5) dropped a hard-fought matchup in a 5-4 loss to Oglethorpe University on Tuesday afternoon. Wheaton will continue its trip to Florida on Wednesday with a match against University of Rochester.
Wheaton and the Storm Petrels split the singles matches with three wins apiece. Freshman
Dane Paulsen was a 6-1, 6-4 winner at number-two singles for the Thunder.
Lincoln Metz picked up a 7-5, 6-4 victory at number-four singles and freshman
Josh Cheng won a 6-0, 6-2 decision at number-six singles. Wheaton's lone victory in doubles competition was an 8-2 win for the number-one doubles team of
Justin Ancona and
Matt Steiner.
