Wheaton, Ill. - The Thunder defense once again was represented by the CCIW in their weekly awards.
Wes Cannonier was named this week's CCIW Defensive Player of the Week by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Cannonier intercepted a pair of passes in Wheaton's 56-17 victory at Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Monday night. His second interception was returned 90 yards for a touchdown to wrap up a second half that saw Wheaton score 35 unanswered points. The award is the first of his career for Cannonier.
