Elmhurst, Ill. - The Thunder men's tennis team picked up its fifth consecutive win on Wednesday with a 7-2 win at Elmhurst College (6-4, 2-1 CCIW). Wheaton has earned victories in eight of its last nine matches. The Thunder improves to 9-5 on the season and 2-0 in CCIW play.

The Thunder picked up wins in two of today's three doubles matches against the Bluejays. Justin Ancona and Matt Steiner earned an 8-2 win at number-two doubles and Derek Mumaw teamed with Brent Westergren for an 8-6 win at number-three doubles.

Josh Ward won a 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 decision at number-one singles against Elmhurst's Chris Harrison. Justin Ancona was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at number-two singles and Matt Steiner picked up a 6-7, 6-0, 6-1 win at number-three singles. Lincoln Metz was a 7-6, 6-2 victor at number-four singles and senior Derek Mumaw was a 6-1, 6-4 winner at number-six singles.

Wheaton will travel to Augustana on Saturday for a key CCIW match with the Vikings on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m.
