Chicago, Ill. – The Wheaton softball team increased its win streak to seven games on Thursday as the Thunder rallied to win a pair of games in a doubleheader at University of Chicago(14-17). Wheaton won the opening game 5-4 and the Thunder completed the sweep with a 6-4 victory over the Maroons in the nightcap.

Wheaton is now 21-12 on the season. The Thunder will return to conference play on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. with a doubleheader at North Park University.
Chicago led the Thunder 4-2 through five innings in the first game today. Wheaton rallied with a run run in the top of the sixth inning to cut the hosts' lead to 4-3 and Wheaton plated two runs in the top of the seventh to earn the 5-4 win. Kendall Kehres (1-4) earned her first collegiate win in seven innings. Kehres allowed four runs, on 10 hits, with two walks and one strikeout.
Lyndsey Pritchard (PICTURED RIGHT) was 3-for-4 with a double in the first game. Shortstop
Megan Neuhaus was 2-for-3, with three runs scored. Thunder junior
Christina Sandstedt was 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Wheaton again rallied in the seventh inning to earn the victory in today's second game. The Maroons scored a run in the bottom of the second inning and added three more runs in the third inning to take a 4-0 lead through three innings. The Thunder scored three times in the top of the fifth inning to cut Chicago's lead to 4-3. Wheaton extended its rally in the top of the seventh inning with three runs to account for the 6-4 final score.
Abby Butler (8-1) earned the win in five innings. She allowed four runs, on 10 hits, with two strikeouts.
Katie Thornton picked up her third save of the season as she held the Maroons scoreless, with no hits, two strikeouts and one walk.
Neuhaus was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, two runs scored and two RBI in the game.
Alyssa Leonard was 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and a stolen base. Sandstedt was 1-for-2, with a double and a walk.
Ellen Radandt hit a key three-run home run in the top of the fifth inning.
