Wheaton, Ill. - The Thunder men's tennis team had its eight-match winning streak stopped on Thursday afternoon in a 5-4 loss to Carthage. In a battle for top honors in the CCIW, Carthage improved to 17-6 overall and 6-0 in conference play. Wheaton fell to 12-6 overall and 4-1 in CCIW action.
In a tightly contested doubles contest, Carthage claimed victories at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles with
Matt Steiner and
Justin Ancona earning an 8-6 victory at No. 2 doubles.
Josh Ward earned a 7-6, 6-0 victory over Pawel Jaworski at No. 1 singles. Ancona claimed a three-set victory at No. 2 singles.
Lincoln Metz won a three-set victory at No. 4 singles.
