Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton men's basketball team closed out the 2014-15 season on Saturday night as the Thunder hosted #8-ranked Augustana. The Vikings defeated the Thunder 89-55.

Wheaton closes the season with an 83.9% (413-of-492) free throw percentage for the year. The mark not only sets a new school record, but also establishes a new NCAA Division III single-season record and NCAA all divisions' record. Wheaton's accuracy at the charity stripe surpasses the previous Division III record of 82.3% (333-of-412) that was set by UW-Stevens Point in 2007. The NCAA record has been held by NCAA Division II member Gannon University with a mark of 82.55% (473-of-573) in 1998.

Brayden Teuscher scored a team-high 18 points in his final collegiate game. Teuscher also had three assists and a team-high nine rebounds. Fellow senior
Caleb DeMoss contributed 10 points, with five rebounds and three assists. Freshman
Murad Dillard (PICTURED LEFT) scored six points with four rebounds and two assists off the Thunder bench.
Hunter Hill led Augustana with 18 points and six assists. Tayvian Johnson scored 13 points, while Ben Ryan and Brandon Motzel each scored 12 points. Ryan led the Vikings with 10 rebounds.

Wheaton posted a 33.3% (19-of-57) field goal percentage, including 35% (7-of-20) from three-point range and 76.9% (10-for-13) at the free throw line. The Vikings shot 57.4% (35-of-61) from the field, with 41.2% (7-of-17) from three-point range and 85.7% (12-of-14) at the free throw line. The Vikings out-rebounded the Thunder 38-28, with Wheaton holding a 7-6 edge on the offensive glass.
Teuscher ends his career with an 89.1% (416-for-467) free throw percentage over three seasons to set a new Wheaton record for career free throw percentage. Teuscher surpasses the previous school record of 88.7% (613-of-691) that was set by Kent Raymond (2005-09). Teuscher caps his three seasons at Wheaton with 1,248 points and is tied for 30th on Wheaton's all-time scoring list.
Senior
Peter Smith (PICTURED RIGHT) closed out his four-year career tonight with a new school record. Smith posted a 94.5% (52-of-55) free throw percentage this season to establish a new Wheaton single-season record. The previous school record for free throw percentage in a season was held by Tony Bollier at 92.9% (104-112) in 2005-06.
Wheaton finishes the year with an 11-14 overall record and a 4-10 mark in CCIW play. Augustana is 21-4 this season with an 11-3 conference record.
