Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton Athletics Department is partnering with Students for the Homeless this Wednesday night at the men's basketball game at 7:00 p.m. as the Thunder hosts Millikin University. Fans attending Wednesday's game can donate $5.00 to Students for the Homeless in place of the regular adult admission of $6.00, with all donations going towards the organization.
Students for the Homeless is a ministry that was created by Wheaton College students and is part of the Christian Service Council at Wheaton, working within the Wheaton College Office of Christian Outreach. At Wednesday's game 100% of the money collected will go directly to the purchase of socks and garments for the homeless in conjunction with Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago. In the last two years, Students for the Homeless has raised approximately 9,000 articles of clothing for the homeless of Chicago and New York City.
