The Thunder football team finishes the 2015 campaign ranked ninth in a pair of national polls

Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton football team is ranked ninth in the final ranking of a pair of national Division III polls. The Thunder finished the season ranked ninth in both the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) coaches poll and the D3football.com Top-25. It marked the ninth time in the 13 years that D3football.com has conducted its Top-25 poll that Wheaton has finished a season in the ranking and the fourth time that the Thunder football program has been in the website's top-10.

Wheaton posted an 11-1 record in 2015, including the program's second consecutive 10-0 regular season. The 11 victories this season ties Wheaton's 2014 squad for second-most in a single campaign in school history and the 10-0 regular season marked the sixth time in school history that a Wheaton team compiled an undefeated and untied record in the regular season; and the first time it has happened in back-to-back seasons.

Thunder head coach Mike Swider was honored as the AFCA Region Four Coach of the Year for his team's efforts this season and the longtime Thunder mentor was named the CCIW Coach of the Year for the sixth time in his career. Three Thunder student-athletes have earned All-American recognition as Adam Dansdill (AFCA and D3football.com); Peter Gibson (D3football.com) and Matt Snebold (D3football.com) each earned an All-American honor in the postseason.
