Wheaton, Ill. - The Thunder men's and women's swim teams hosted the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for a dual meet on Friday afternoon at Chrouser Natatorium. The Panthers were victorious in the women's meet by a score of 133-72 and won the men's meet by a narrow margin of 111-94.
As they did in their first dual meet, the Thunder swept the 200-yard medley relay. The Thunder women's quartet of
Erin Bagley,
Kayla Roberson,
Kirsty Nitz and
Sarah Hunt won by an edge of .44 seconds in a time of 1:47.52. The Thunder men's relay team of Chris Szymczak, Jon Lait, Jacob Clement and Jack O'Connor earned a one-second victory with a time of 1:35.35. Both performances served as the fastest non-championship times in program history.
Jack O'Connor earned an impressive victory in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.17 seconds. O'Connor also won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 46.85 seconds. O'Connor's time in both events were also a program-best in a non-championship meet.
Kirsty Nitz eanred a four-second victory in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.33 seconds, an NCAA consideration time. Jacob Clement also earned a victoryin the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 51.56 seconds.
Will McCauley won the 500-yard freestyle with a six-second gap in a time of 4:42.32. McCauley's second place time of 4:05.85 in the 400-yard IM earned an NCAA Consideration mark.
Kayla Roberson (1:07.01) and
Erin Bagley (1:07.08) earned an exciting 1-2 finish in the 100-yard breaststroke. Roberson (4:34.00) and
Katie Deysher (4:35.55) each earned NCAA consideration times in the 400-yard IM.
