Whitewater, Wis. – The Wheaton Thunder women's soccer team had its season ended on Saturday night in a 2-0 loss at UW-Whitewater (19-4) in the Second Round of the 2015 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament. Wheaton ends the season with a 16-7 record.
The Warhawks took an early 1-0 lead tonight when Marie Lesperance scored in the eighth minute off of an assist by Carly Pottle. Lesperance's goal was one of only two shots for the hosts in the first half. Wheaton had a 9-2 advantage in shots in the first half as the Warhawks led 1-0 at the halftime intermission.
UW-Whitewater held onto its narrow 1-0 lead for the first 27 minutes of the second half. The Warhawks' Brianna Reid increased the hosts' lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 73
rd minute. Reid's goal was assisted by Pottle and Morgan Beaty. Wheaton was unable to turn its 11-9 shot advantage in the second half into a goal as UW-Whitewater earned the 2-0 victory.

Mary Daghfal made three saves and allowed two goals on the night. UW-Whitewater netminder Erin Doody made saves as she shut out the Thunder in 90 minutes of action in the hosts' net.
Wheaton held a 20-11 advantage in shots tonight, including a 7-5 edge in shots on goal. Wheaton was awarded 10 corner kicks tonight and UW-Whitewater had 11.
