Rock Island, Ill. – The Wheaton Thunder men's soccer team, ranked 25th in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Top-25 earned a 3-0 victory at Augustana (4-13-1, 1-5 CCIW) on Wednesday night. Tonight's win was the fifth-consecutive victory for the Thunder.
The Thunder (11-3-2, 5-1 CCIW) will host #21 North Park (12-3-2, 3-1-2 CCIW) on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. in the regular season finale at Joe Bean Stadium. A Wheaton win against the Vikings would give the Thunder the 2015 CCIW Men's Soccer Championship and the top-seed in next week's CCIW Men's Soccer Tournament. A tie on Saturday between Wheaton and the Vikings would also give Wheaton a share of the CCIW Title.

Tyler Robbins gave Wheaton an early 1-0 lead in tonight's victory at Augustana as he scored in the 24
th minute. Robbins collected a
Stephen Golz pass at the left post and he scored on a shot from about 12-yard out as the ball hit the opposite post and went into the goal for Wheaton's 1-0 lead. Wheaton out-shot Augustana 6-2 in the first half.
Early in the second half the Vikings fouled Wheaton in the penalty box to setup a penalty kick attempt by senior
Marshall Hollingsworth. The Thunder All-American converted the penalty kick attempt in the 55
th minute to increase Wheaton's lead to 2-0. Golz put the ball into the net in the 58
th minute off of a double-assist by Robbins and
Max Carey to increase Wheaton's lead to 3-0. Neither team scored in the final 31 minutes of the match as Wheaton maintained its shut out to earn the 3-0 victory.
Thunder goalkeeper
Matt Paprocki made three saves in securing the shutout. Augustana's starting goalkeeper, Matt Hesch allowed three goals and made one save in 67 minutes of work. Jeff Bell played 23 minutes in the Vikings' net, making three saves with no goals allowed.
Wheaton recorded 15 shots in the match, including six shots on goal. The Vikings had seven shots in the match, with three shots on goal. Wheaton was awarded three corner kicks in the match and Augustana had five corner kicks.
Note Worthy: Tonight's shutout was the third consecutive game that Wheaton has not allowed a goal...Wheaton has recorded a shutout in five of its last six matches...the 'Orange and Blue' has not allowed a goal in the last 275:32 of play.
