Kenosha, Wis. - The Wheaton men's tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision at Carthage College on Saturday afternoon in the regular season finale for the Thunder. Carthage is now 17-7 on the year and 5-1 in CCIW play.
Wheaton is now 16-5 on the year, with a 4-2 record in conference play. The Thunder will participate in the CCIW Men's Tennis Championships next Friday and Saturday in Elmhurst, Illinois.
The Thunder jumped out to a 2-1 advantage once doubles action was concluded today.
Ryan Kreis and
Josh Ward were 8-4 winners at number-one doubles and
David Buursma teamed with
Andrew Trump for a 9-8 victory at number-three doubles.
Kreis earned a 6-3, 6-3 win at number-one singles for the Thunder. Ward was 6-2, 6-0 victor at number-three singles.
