Wheaton, Ill. - The accolades continue to roll in for sophomore quarterback
Johnny Peltz. Peltz was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week on Tuesday joining
Caleb Ashby, who received the honor following Wheaton's victory over UW-Eau Claire. Peltz is the first Thunder quarterback to earn the honor since D3football.com started the Team of the Week award in 2010. Peltz completed 81.8% (18-22) of his passes for 289 yards and four touchdowns in Wheaton's 56-20 victory over Elmhurst on Saturday. The win gave Wheaton sole possession of the first place in the CCIW with two games remaining. Peltz connected with
Luke Thorson on scoring passes of 11, 23 and 17 yards and hit
Andrew Lindquist for a 15-yard touchdown strike. He was also Wheaton's leading rusher, carrying 16 times for 119 yards and four touchdowns. Peltz found paydirt on runs of 53 and 16 yards and scored on a pair of one-yard touchdown plunges.
Wheaton hosts Illinois Wesleyan at 1 PM on Saturday afternoon in the final regular season home game.
