Wheaton, Ill. – Wheaton College sophomore Johnny Peltz and senior Sam Cote have each been recgnozed as a CCIW Player of the Week. Peltz has been tabbed as the Player of the Week on offense and Cote honored on special teams.

Peltz completed 78.6% of his passes last Saturday's 34-31 victory against #12-North Central as he completed 22 of his 28 passing attempts. The sophomore passes for 236 yards and he ran for 83 yards, tallying 319 yards of total offense. He threw a 13-yard TD pass in the second quarter to give Wheaton its first lead, a 10-9 advantage. His second touchdown pass was a nine-yard TD pass in the third quarter to give the Thunder 24-16 lead.

Cote kicked the game-winning 28-yard field goal as time expired to give Wheaton the 34-31 victory last Saturday. He also converted a 37-yard field goal in the first quarter to give Wheaton its first points of the game.

Wheaton (7-0) is ranked 11th in this week's AFCA Division III Top-25 and 13th in this week's D3football.com Top-25 Poll.The Thunder head to Elmhurst this Saturday to face the Bluejays (5-2, 4-0 CCIW) at Langhorst Field.
