Naperville, Ill. - The Wheaton men's soccer team improved to 14-3 overall and 4-1 in CCIW play on a beautiful Saturday afternoon with a 4-1 victory at North Central. The road win wraps up a stretch of that saw the Thunder play seven of its last eight matches on the road. The loss drops North Central to 9-6-1 on the season and 2-3 in CCIW play. Wheaton will return to Joe Bean Stadium on Wednesday night for a 7 PM kickoff with the Augustana Vikings.
Wheaton outshot the Cardinals 18-5 on the afternoon, including an 11-3 edge in shots on goal. Wheaton attempted seven corner kicks while the Cardinals were limited to three corners.
Matt Paprocki faced shots, making two saves and allowing one goal. North Central's Christian Garcia faced 12 shots, allowing three goals and making three saves in 45:23 of work. Zach Serovy allowed two goals and made three saves in 44:37.

Wheaton wasted no time in establishing themselves in the match as
Noah Anthony gave Wheaton a 1-0 lead just 2:28 into the match on a set piece just outside the box. The Thunder offense would continue the attack throughout the first half and cashed in again in the 19th minute when
Jordan Golz (PICTURED RIGHT) found the net for his fifth goal of the season. Ten minutes later it was Anthony again to pad the lead for the Thunder with his fifth goal of the season to give Wheaton a 3-0 lead at the 28:39 mark. The three-goal lead would hold up until the halftime break.
Jordan Golz kept the offensive machine going early in the second half by finding
Stephen Golz for his team-leading 11th goal of the season in the 54th minute. For
Jordan Golz it was his team-leading seventh assist of the season. Following the 4-0 deficit, North Central started to level the field and provided several threatening builds before finally finding the scoreboard in the 75th minute on a long goal by Chandler Olah to cut the lead to 4-1.Â
In the game's final minutes,
Cannon Allen Jr. provided the game's final tally with his first career goal to account for a final score of 5-1.
Wheaton will next be in action on Wednesday when the Thunder face Augustana at 7 PM at Joe Bean Stadium.
