Bloomington, Ill.- Wheaton's men's tennis team fell 5-3 to the Elmhurst Bluejays in Saturday's CCIW Championship match played at Illinois Wesleyan University. The Thunder took two of three in doubles competition but won just one singles match before Elmhurst ended the match with their fifth point.
Ryan Kreis was a 6-2, 6-4 winner at #1 singles and teamed with
Josh Ward for an 8-3 win at #1 doubles. Kreis' victory over Alex Harbart avenges his only previous loss this season. Wheaton ends their season with a 13-7 record. Kreis remains a candidate for selection to the NCAA tournament with a record of 18-1 at #1 singles and a 17-2 record with Ward at 1 doubles.
