Bloomington, Ill.- The Wheaton men's tennis team edged #3-seeded Augustana 5-4 on Friday afternoon to advance to the CCIW Championship match against the top-seeded Elmhurst Bluejays. Elmhurst was victorious over Carthage by a score of 5-0 in the semifinals on Friday. Wheaton (13-6) also defeated the Vikings by a 5-4 score in their regular season match. While the match scores were not the same, the individual results played out the same way they did in their earlier matchup. Both teams took three singles matches with the Thunder claiming victories at #1 and #2 doubles for the 5-4 edge. Wheaton dropped their regular season match against the Bluejays by a score of 6-3 on April 24.
