Elmhurst, Ill.- The Wheaton men's tennis dropped their first CCIW match of the season with a 6-3 loss at Elmhurst College on Wednesday night. The Bluejays were victorious in four of the six singles matches and took two out of three in doubles competition.
David Buursma claimed a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Vincent McPherson at #3 singles and teamed with
Miles Greenwald for a 9-7 victory over Luke Tanaka and Chris Harrison at #2 doubles.
Josh Ward was also a winner in three sets, 7-5, 4-6, 7-6(5), over Will Jung at #2 singles.
Wheaton is now 12-5 on the season and 4-1 in the CCIW. They will next be in action on Friday when they host Coe College at 4 PM in their final match before the CCIW Championship on May 3-4.
