Hanover Park, Ill. - The Thunder men's tennis team played its first conference match of 2013 on Saturday, earning a 7-2 victory against Carthage College (7-7/1-1 CCIW). The start of today's match was delayed and the location was moved indoors to Centre Court Racquet Club due to the threat of weather.
Wheaton won five of the six single matches with
Ryan Kreis (PICTURED ABOVE),
Josh Ward,
David Buursma,
Miles Greenwald (PICTURED LEFT) and
John Bodett earning victories. Kreis and Ward teamed up to pick up a victory at number-one doubles, while Greenwald and Buursma were winners at number-two doubles.
Wheaton is now 9-3 on the year and 1-0 in conference play. Wheaton is slated to have a busy schedule next week with four matches, including three conference matches, beginning on Tuesday when squad is schedule to host Illinois Wesleyan at 4 PM.
