Wheaton, Ill.- For the third time this season and fourth time in his career, Wheaton junior Sam Cote was honored by the CCIW as the Special Teams Player of the Week. Cote also earned the honor for the second time in three weeks. Cote was a perfect 10-10 in kick opportunities with three made field goals and seven successful PATs. Cote converted on field goals of 43, 35 and 25 yards in Wheaton's 58-21 victory at Millikin on Saturday. Additionally, Cote averaged 46 yards on a pair of punts.

Cote, who was placed on the preseason watch list for the Fred Mitchell Award, is now 10-12 this season on field goal attempts. Cote kicked a career long 53-yard field goal on the last play of the first half last week against Illinois Wesleyan. Cote leads the Thunder is is second in the CCIW in scoring with 69 points. His ten field goals rank are the fifth-highest field goal total in the country.

On 24 punt attempts, Cote is averaging 37.0 yards per punt, however, 13 of his 24 punts have ended up inside the 20-yard line and ten of his 24 punts have been fair caught.
