Moline, Ill. - The Wheaton College men's tennis team defeated Augustana College 5-4 on Friday to advance to the CCIW Championship match against Elmhurst College on Saturday. Action begins at 1:30 PM.

The Thunder (17-5) came into the weekend as the No. 1 seed, taking on No. 4 seed Augustana. Like their previous matchup in the regular season, the Vikings came out ahead 2-1 after doubles action. Taylor Johnson and Miles Greenwald teamed up at No. 2 doubles to get the win 9-8 (7-5).

Wheaton then won four of the six singles matches to pull off the one-point victory and run its undefeated streak to 11 straight. Johnson, Josh Ward, Joel Parrish and David Buursma all came away with singles wins.
