Hanover Park, Ill. - The Wheaton College men's tennis team ran its winning streak to 10-straight matches thanks to a 6-3 victory over Augustana College on Saturday.
The Thunder improve to 16-5 overall and finish the conference season with perfect 5-0 mark in the CCIW. The Vikings drop to 15-9 overall, 2-3 in the CCIW.
Augustana came out ahead after the doubles portion of the contest by taking No. 2 and No. 3. Wheaton's No. 1 tandem of
Jordan Williams and
Josh Ward came away with an 8-6 win in their match.
Wheaton turned it around in singles action by winning five of the six matches. Three matchups went to three sets, but Williams and
Joel Parrish both triumphed to clinch the team victory for the Thunder.
The Thunder will next travel to Moline, Ill. for the CCIW Championship on Friday and Saturday.
