Elkhorn, Wis. - The Wheaton College men's tennis team lost to Luther College 6-3 and University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 8-1 on Saturday.

The losses were the Thunder's first of the year and evened their record at 2-2. Luther ran its record to 4-1 and No. 21-ranked Whitewater improved to 3-1.

Wheaton started off well in doubles against the Norse. The No. 1 doubles combo of Jordan Williams and Josh Ward took their match 8-4, while Joel Parrish and David Buursma teamed up at No. 3 doubles for an 8-6 victory. From there, Luther took five of six singles, including a pair of third-set tiebreakers. Parrish won his match at No. 4 singles 7-5, 7-6 (7-2).

In their match versus the Warhawks, the Thunder got their lone win from Taylor Johnson at No. 1 singles by a 7-5, 7-5 margin.

Wheaton will have two weeks until its next match at Aquinas College on February 25.
