Kenosha, Wis. - The Wheaton volleyball team was handed its second consecutive five-set loss, when the Thunder dropped a 3-2 decision at seventh-ranked Carthage College on Tuesday night. The Lady Reds took the first set 25-19 and Wheaton responded with a 33-31 victory in the second set. Carthage won the third set 25-17 and Wheaton won the fourth set 25-20 to send the match to a decisive fifth set. Carthage closed out the win with a 15-11 win in the fifth set.

Wheaton is now 8-5 on the season with a 1-1 record in conference play. Carthage is 12-2 overall and 2-0 in CCIW action. The Thunder will host the Wheaton invitational on Friday and Saturday in King Arena. 

Freshman Megan McKinley continued her strong play with a team-high 18 kills. Emily Buyse recorded 12 kills and two total blocks. Cassie Murphy and Hannah Velling each recorded 10 kills. Jenna McCallister had 54 assists and Kaitlyn Graham Novosad led the Thunder with 36 digs.
