Wheaton, Ill. – The Thunder volleyball team earned a spot in the CCIW Tournament Semifinals with a 3-0 victory against North Central on Tuesday night in the CCIW Play-In match. Wheaton opened with a 26-24 win in set one, the Thunder won the second set 25-21, and closed out the win with a 25-23 victory. Wheaton is now 22-12 on the year, while North Central closes out the season with an 18-17 overall record.
Wheaton, the tournament's fourth-seed will face top-seeded Carthage on Friday at 7 PM at Carthage's Tarble Center. Friday's other semifinal match will feature second-seed Millikin and number-three seed Elmhurst at 4:30 PM in Kenosha. Friday's winners will play in the CCIW Tournament Championship match at 2 PM, with the winner earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
