Chicago, Ill. - The Wheaton College volleyball team wrapped up its conference season at North Park University with a 3-0 victory on Tuesday.
The Thunder improve to 19-12 overall and 4-3 in conference play. They will now host North Central College in the CCIW Tournament play-in match at 7 PM on Tuesday. The Vikings fall to 12-16 and 0-7 in the CCIW.
A plethora of defensive blocks in the middle spurred Wheaton to a 25-20, 25-21, 25-21 sweep.
Lindsay Stein (PICTURED ABOVE) led the defense with six blocks to go with eight kills.
Cassie Murphy came up big on the block with five stuffs while adding six kills and 10 digs.
Emily Buyse totaled four blocks and nine kills. Setter
Jenna McCallister handed out 31 assists with a team-high 15 digs and two aces.
Megan McKinley scored a team-best 10 kills and
Sarah McWilliams tallied seven kills.
The Thunder will next be playing at the Benedictine University Tournament, hosted at North Central College, on Saturday.
