Wheaton, Ill. – The Thunder volleyball team opened conference play on Tuesday night with a 3-0 victory at home against North Park. Wheaton is now 6-4 on the year and 1-0 in CCIW play. North Park is now 2-7 overall and 0-1 in league play.
Wheaton opened with a 25-19 victory in the first set. The Thunder solidly won the second set 25-13, after jumping out to a 10-2 lead. The hosts secured the three set victory with a 25-16 victory in the third set.

Sophomore
Cassie Murphy led the Thunder with a team-high seven kills and a team-best 13 digs, with
five total blocks.
Hannah Velling had six kills, while freshmen
Hannah Graber and
Emily Buyse each had five kills. Buyse recorded a team-best seven total blocks and Graber had four blocks.
Ashlie Pace tallied 12 digs in the match and added a team-high 17 receptions.
Jenna McCallister distributed 25 assists in the match.
Wheaton will host the Wheaton Five-Team Tournament on Saturday at King Arena. The Thunder will open up action at 10 AM against Kalamazoo College and face Trinity Christian College at noon.
