Women's basketball falls 90-69 at Elmhurst

– The Wheaton College women's basketball team ended its season on Saturday with a 90-69 loss at Elmhurst College. Wheaton ends the year with a 13-12 overall record and a 6-8 mark in CCIW play. The Bluejays are now 17-8 overall and 10-4 in conference action.

Elmhurst built up a lead to hold a 41-24 advantage at halftime. The Bluejays never trailed in the game and held a lead as large as 24 points late in the game.

Freshman Brooke Olson led the Thunder with 13 points and five rebounds. Lindsey Brenneman scored 12 points, with four assists. Sophomore Elisabeth Potts scored 11 points. Freshman Breanna Bohlen scored eight points and Annie Bowen added seven points.

Lyndsie Long led Elmhurst with 37 points, 12 rebounds and three assists. Megan Ney scored 15 points, with seven rebounds. Meghan Merklein contributed 11 points and six rebounds for the hosts.

Wheaton shot 32.2% (19-59) from the field, with 12% (3-25) from three-point range and 87.5% (28-32) at the free throw line. Elmhurst posted a 48.2% (27-56) field goal percentage, with 44.4% (4-9) from behind the three-point arc and 68.1% (32-47) at the free throw line. Elmhurst out-rebounded the Thunder 46-31, with a 15-10 edge on the offensive glass.
