D3football.com All-North Region Football Team

Wheaton, Ill. – Four members of the Wheaton College football team have been selected to the 2010 D3football.com All-North Region football team. Seniors Tommy Burggraf, Nick Biggee and Tyler Langs join junior Scott Roche on the All-Region Team.

Wheaton posted a record of 10-2 this season, finishing second in the CCIW. Wheaton earned an at-large bid to the 2010 NCAA Division III Football Championship, advancing to the tournament's second round.

Senior offensive tackle Tommy Burggraf, and senior center Nick Biggee both earned Second Team All-Region honors at their respective positions. The duo was an integral part of Wheaton's offensive line this season as starters for a unit that averaged 406.3 yards of offense per game in the regular season, with a balanced attack that averaged 203.7 rushing yards per game and 202.6 passing yards a game.

Junior kicker Scott Roche was a Second Team All-North Region pick. Roche made a school-record 18 field goals this season, including 16 in the regular season. He also set a Wheaton record for longest field goal, with a 52-yard boot against Augustana. Roche led Division III in field goals per game this season with a division-best mark of 1.50 field goals per game. His 18 field goals this year was the most of any kicker in Division III, by three field goals.

Senior Tyler Langs was a Third Team All-North Region pick at both cornerback and return specialist. At cornerback this season, Langs made a team-high six interceptions this season, with 12 pass deflections. He recorded 49 tackles, including 35 solo stops. Langs also returned 31 punts this season, for 436 yards, averaging 14.1 yards per return. He returned a punt 80 yards for a touchdown in a Thunder victory on September 18 against UW-Platteville.
