Wheaton, Ill. – Wheaton College sophomore Jordan Roberts has been named the CCIW's “Player of the Week” on offense in football for his efforts in helping lead Wheaton to a 27-24 victory at Elmhurst College last Saturday. Wheaton is currently 5-0 on the year, with a 2-0 CCIW record, ranked 17th in this week's D3football.com Top-25 poll and ranked 13th in the American Football Coaches Association Division III Top-25. Wheaton will return to action on Saturday at 6 PM when it hosts North Park University for a 6 PM kickoff against the Vikings.

Wheaton rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit in Saturday's win at Elmhurst, thanks to two Roberts touchdown passes in the second half and a key run by the quarterback. He completed 15 of his 22 passing attempts for 160 yards, with three touchdowns in three quarters of action. He also ran for 82 yards on nine carries as he combined for 242 of Wheaton's 395 yards of offense with his arm and feet.

In the third quarter he cut Elmhurst's lead to 24-21 with a six-yard touchdown pass that was setup three plays earlier when he made a 64-yard run to get the Thunder inside of Elmhurst's 10-yard line. He gave Wheaton the lead at 27-24 with a one-yard touchdown pass in the end zone to fullback Davis Skinner that was setup one play earlier on a 34-yard pass.

Roberts has completed 67.9% (57-84) of his passes this season for 626 yards, with eight touchdown passes. He is second on the team with 216 rushing yards, averaging 8.6 yards per carry in five games this season.
