Wheaton, Ill. – The Thunder volleyball team hosted the “Wheaton Five-Team Tournament” on Saturday, picking up a pair of victories. Wheaton rallied to defeat UW-Stevens Point, 3-2 (17-25, 21-25, 25-19, 25-13, 15-13) in the opening session. In the final match of the day, the Thunder defeated Concordia-Chicago, 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 27-25).

University of Chicago also posted a 2-0 record on the day, with victories against Monmouth College (Ill.) and Concordia-Chicago. Click here for full tournament results.

In Wheaton's victory against UW-Stevens Point this morning, Sarah McWilliams led the Thunder with 18 kills. Jenna McCallister tallied and Hannah Velling each recorded 10 kills, as McCallister also added 41 assists and 12 digs. Senior Ashlie Pace recorded 19 digs.

In the win against Concordia-Chicago, McWilliams and Paige Narr each recorded nine kills to lead the Thunder. McCallister had 24 assists and a team-best 15 digs. Narr and McWilliams each recorded four total blocks in the match.
