#15-Ranked Wheaton defeats Loras College 82-60 to improve to 3-0 on the season

–The Thunder men's basketball team improved to 3-0 on the season with an 82-60 victory at Loras College on Tuesday night. Wheaton, ranked 15th in Division III by D3hoops.com, will return to action on December 2 with an 8 PM contest against University of Chicago in Wheaton's King Arena.

Wheaton led the Duhawks 14-9 with 12:29 remaining in the first half and the Thunder put together a 9-2 run to extend the guests' lead to 23-11. The Thunder led the Duhawks 36-27 at halftime. The Thunder led 38-29 with 19:26 left in the game, and Wheaton utilized a 10-2 run to take a 48-31 lead with 16:00 left in regulation.
The Thunder remained in control throughout the second half.

Senior guard Ben Panner scored 29 points on 12-for-17 shooting from the field, with three assists. Tim McCrary scored 16 points, with six rebounds and four assists. Junior guard Andrew Jahns scored 10 points, with four assists. Junior guard John Shackelford scored a career-high nine points with five rebounds. Spencer Schultze scored seven points, with four rebounds.

Tim Kelly and Dan Pawelski each scored eight points to lead Loras. Mike Gleason scored seven points for the hosts.

Wheaton shot 59.3% (32-54) from the field, including 75% (18-24) in the second half. Wheaton shot 37.5% (3-8) from three-point range and 83.3% (15-18) at the free throw line. Loras shot 45.5% (25-55) from the floor, with 30% (3-10) from behind the three-point arc and 50% (7-14) from the charity stripe. The Thunder out-rebounded the hosts 32-25, as the hosts held a 9-7 edge on the offensive glass.
