Kenosha, Wis. - The Thunder volleyball team lost in three sets at sixth-ranked Carthage College on Tuesday night. The Lady Reds topped Wheaton, 3-0 (25-20, 25-13 and 25-20). Wheaton is now 9-11 overall and 1-4 in CCIW play, while Carthage improves to 17-2 and 4-0 in league action. The Thunder will host Rockford College on Friday night at 5 PM.
In the first set, Wheaton led on occasion. Wheaton's last lead in the set came with a 19-16 lead. However, Carthage took the lead for good at 21-19, and closed out the first set with a 7-1 run to win, 25-20. Carthage led, 8-7, when the Lady Reds put together a 12-2 run to go up by 11 points, 20-9, for the 25-13 victory. Wheaton took an early, 7-4 lead in the third set before Carthage used an 8-4 run to take a 12-11 lead. The Lady Reds opened up a seven-point spread, 20-13, and went on to win by five, 25-20.

Kaitlyn Graham had a team-high 18 digs.
