Invitational Results

Elmhurst, Ill. - The Wheaton College volleyball team went 3-1 over the weekend at the Elmhurst College Invitational.

The Thunder ran their record to 14-12 on the season. Wheaton libero Ashlie Pace was named to the All-Tournament team.

In its first match on Friday, Wheaton defeated Concordia University-Chicago 3-1 (26-24, 25-17, 22-25, 28-26). The Thunder also beat Concordia 3-0 back on Sept. 19.

Wheaton dropped its second Friday match to Simpson College 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-19). But the Thunder bounced back on Saturday with a pair of five-set victories over Loras College (22-25, 25-16, 25-14, 20-25, 15-9) and Dominican University (25-20, 17-25, 25-22, 19-25, 16-14).

The All-Tournament team included Pace, Stephanie Ryding (North Central), Rebecca Camp (Calvin), Caitlin O'Hara (Elmhurst), Brittany Wesermeyer (Loras), and Tara Christensen (Simpson).

Wheaton continues its conference season at North Central College with a 6:00 PM match on Oct. 23.
