Decatur, Ill. – The number-one ranked Thunder men's basketball team used a stingy defense to remain undefeated on Saturday night with a 61-47 win at Millikin. The 47 points registered by the Big Blue is the fewest points scored by Millikin this season. Wheaton is now 15-0 overall and 4-0 in CCIW play. Millikin is now 10-4 overall and 1-3 in league action.

The Thunder led 16-14 with 9:00 remaining in the first half when they put together a 16-4 scoring run to close out the first half for a 32-20 Wheaton lead at halftime. The Thunder remained in control in the second half, with the biggest Wheaton lead of the game coming in the form of an 18-point advantage, which happened twice and the last time was at 59-41 with 1:00 remaining in the game.

Ben Panner led the Thunder with 18 points on 7-for-11 shooting from the field and three steals. Freshman
Tim McCrary scored 14 points on 6-for-9 shooting. Freshman guard
Jeremy Pflederer (PICTURED RIGHT) scored 10 points off of the bench and

Andy Wiele collected a game-high eight rebounds, with six points.
Joscar Demby was the lone Big Blue player to score in double digits with 10 points and seven rebounds. Tunde Ogunleye scored nine points and Jake Mott contributed eight points.
Wheaton shot 59.5% (25-42) from the field, with 33.3% (2-6) from behind the three-point arc and 75% (9-12) at the free throw line. Millikin recorded a 45% (18-40) field goal percentage, with 33.3% (3-9) from three-point range and 72.7% (8-11) at the charity stripe. Wheaton out-rebounded the Big Blue 27-17 on the night.
