Decorah, Iowa - The Thunder men's tennis team improved to 01-5 on Saturday with pair of wins at Luther College. The Thunder earned a 5-4 victory over Luther College and defeated UW-LaCrosse 6-3. Luther is ranked 11th in the most recent ITA Division III Central Region Poll and Wheaton is ranked 15th in the same poll.
Senior All-American Josh Williams earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory at number-one singles over Luther's Max Busch. The duo of Williams and Justin Miller earned an 8-4 win at number one singles over the Luther tandem of Max Busch and Jono Martin. The team of Miller & Williams is ranked 13th in the central region, while the pairing Busch & Martin is ranked 14th in the region.
Against UW-LaCrosse Williams was down 6-2, 5-1 and rallied to win 11 straight games to take a 5-0 third set lead. Williams' rally for a win broke a 3-3 tie in the team score and gave Wheaton a 4-3 lead, helping the Thunder earn the 6-3 win.
