Hanover Park, Ill. - The Thunder men's tennis team was a 7-2 victor against Augustana on Saturday afternoon. Today's win was the seventh consecutive victory for the Thunder to improve the team to 13-5 overall and 5-0 in league play. Wheaton conclude the regular season on April 22 at St. Francis (Ill.) in a 4:15 PM match. The Thunder will compete in the CCIW Championships next Friday and Saturday in Bloomington, Illinois.
All-American Josh Williams (PICTURED ABOVE) was a 6-4, 6-3 winner at number-one singles against Augustana's Rafael Romero. With today's win, Williams has now won nine consecutive matches, holding a record of 14-7 on the season. Williams and Justin Miller, his partner at number-one doubles, earned an 8-4 win against Augustana's Kyle Doyle and Chris Mullin. Williams and Miller have now won 12 consecutive matches for a steller record of 16-3 on the year.
