Wheaton, Ill. - The seventh-seed Thunder volleyball team had its season ended on Tuesday night in a 3-1 loss at second-seed North Central in the CCIW Tournament Play-In match. Wheaton ends the season with a 17-16 record on the year. North Central advances to the four-team CCIW Volleyball Tournament that will begin on Friday at top-seeded Carthage College.
North Central won the first two sets by scores of 22-25 and 21-25. Wheaton rallied to win the third set 25-18, however the Cardinals won the fourth and decisive set 25-18.
Senior Kelli Miller led the Thunder with 14 kills and five assisted blocks. Fellow senior Lisa Jutsum tallied 10 kills, with 22 digs. Freshman Hannah Haskell contributed eight kills, while Ashlie Pace added 24 digs. Freshman setter Jenna McCallister led the Thunder with 33 assists and a team-high 25 digs.
