Kenosha, Wis.
- After falling behind 2-0 in the first half, Wheaton College women's soccer couldn't recover and lost to Carthage College 2-1 on Wednesday.

The Thunder came into the game ranked No. 5 in the NCAA Division III national rankings and fell to 12-2-1 overall and 4-1 in conference. The Lady Reds improved to 11-1 overall and 3-1 in the CCIW.

Playing in wet conditions and temperatures in the 50s, Wheaton dominated the action as usual and outshot Carthage 25-2 in the game. Unfortunately, both Lady Reds shots scored as Devon Wilfling scored at 31:46 and Debbie Koslowski scored at 43:00 in the first half.

Carthage kept tight coverage on leading scorer Taryne Lee and the defense proved effective to keep the offense from scoring. Defender Lauren Moser (PICTURED LEFT) scored the lone Wheaton goal on a free kick at 67:00 in the second half.

The loss ended the Thunder's eight-game win streak, during which they outscored the opposition 47-4.

The Carthage win was also the team's first in 15 meetings since the series began in 1995. Wheaton is now 90-4 all-time in CCIW games.

The Thunder return to action at 8:00 PM Saturday as they travel down Texas to take on Trinity University.
