Wheaton volleyball goes to limit, falls to Augustana in 5

Ashlie Pace tallied a team-high 35 digs in Friday's five-set match

Rock Island, Ill. - Wheaton College volleyball lost to Augustana College 3-2 in a conference matchup on Friday.

The Thunder fell to 11-10 overall and 2-3 in the CCIW. The Vikings improved to 17-6 overall and 1-3 in CCIW action.

Wheaton came into the game having won five of its last six matches. The Thunder took the first set 25-20 before the hosts came back to tie it 25-19.

The back-and-forth action continued, with Wheaton taking set three 26-24 and Augustana taking set four 25-21. In the decisive set, the Vikings took control and won the match 15-6.

Hannah Haskell and Lisa Jutsum each scored 15 kills to lead the Thunder. Kelli Miller tallied nine kills and four blocks. Paige Narr had five blocks, Ashlie Pace (PICTURED LEFT) collected 35 digs and Jenna McCallister totalled 28 assists.

Wheaton returns to action with a conference home match vs. Carthage College at 7:00 PM on Wednesday.
